4. Triple Threat Gets The Right Result

Michael Cole and Pat McAfee might have referenced Gunther’s confidence issues during the World Heavyweight Championship triple threat, but his performance during this match seemed to indicate that that particular problem is officially behind the champ.

Gunther persevered and put down both his opponents Damian Priest and Finn Balor in a spirited match that saw all three men control for portions and come an eyelash away from winning before the Ring General locked things down. Priest nailed Balor with a South of Heaven, but Gunther pulled Damian outside and powerbombed him onto the ring steps. He then raced back inside and flattened Finn with a powerbomb for the win.

This hopefully means we can stop talking about Gunther’s crisis of confidence and move back to a dominant champion who has found himself.

The match itself was perfectly fine, but it wasn’t the world championship match fans were clamoring to see Saturday night.
