5 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE SmackDown (19 July - Results & Review)
1. They’re Wrestling Over A Queuing System
Bianca Belair vs. Chelsea Green happened so both ladies could determine who gets to queue up and speak to GM Nick Aldis first. OK then. Worse than that, the match lasted less than a minute before Belair bagged the win and celebrated like she'd headlined 'Mania with Jade Cargill.
What was the point of this?
Older fans will recall Edge and Booker T warring over a fictional shampoo ad at WrestleMania X8. That was silly, but almost knowingly so. Here, peeps tuning into SmackDown were expected to believe that Bianca and Chelsea needed a wrestle to establish who was allowed to stand outside the General Manager's door first.
This is the kind of asinine nonsense Vince McMahon would've penned in 2019, and it cannot be excused. In short, nobody gives a toss which wrestler gets to queue outside Nick's door. Just get to the point and put the babyfaces back in the Women's Tag Title mix already.
