The tag-team division has been a regular highlight on SmackDown episodes for a long time now. Unfortunately, that didn't earn the show's squads a slot on either night in Las Vegas at 'Mania 41, but The Street Profits did win a banging TLC scorcher over DIY and The Motor City Machine Guns on last week's show. WWE's next step is finding Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins some new challengers.

Step forwards, Fraxiom.

Nathan Frazer and Axiom scored a win over Los Garza last week, then received another glowing recommendation from the writers by beating Pretty Deadly on Friday. Admittedly, there was a slight blip in the action; Elton Prince seemingly took a nasty elbow shot to the chops and was thus too dazed to kick out as planned. The ref had to call an audible and stop her count, which looked bad but wasn't a bout-breaker in the end.

No, the most important thing is that Fraxiom got to showcase their speed and synergy as a team. They bamboozled PD with energetic flurries that were very TNA-era MCMGs (which is something worth keeping an eye on if Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin ever run into them), and the pair got a nice reaction from fans enthused by their slick sequences.

As always, the big hurdle will be selling Frazer and Axiom as characters worth caring about once the honeymoon sheen wears off. However, it's nice to add another hot team to a division that's frankly been killing it for ages. Fraxiom vs. Machine Guns, DIY and eventually Street Profits makes sense.
