5 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE SmackDown (23 Aug - Results & Review)
3. Team USA Wins Out
There were Olympic vibes to Naomi, Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill's ring attires on Friday. All three looked like members of Team USA, which was rather snazzy and gave them a fresh look for this built-up crack at the revamped Unholy Union. That group didn't have a prayer of beating the superhero-like trio.
What a fun, zippy six-woman's tag it was though.
Cargill's hot tag and power sequence was killer, and the Union even got a fair whack of decent heat on the baby group before that. Arguably, the heels needed this win more, but WWE isn't hiding their intentions with any of this. Jade and Bianca will regain those Women's Tag-Team Titles at some point; possibly in Berlin.
Here's hoping the writers don't give up on Alba Fyre, Isla Dawn and Blair Davenport after that. They're worth more together than individually right now, and they don't deserve to be swept aside as soon as the belts are off Alba and Isla. However, titles or not, Belair and Cargill are the definite stars of WWE's tag ranks.
