5 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Dec 17)

The fact that Drew McIntyre has been reduced to this 'Happy Talk' guff, and has a pay-per-view match vs. Madcap Moss, is pretty depressing. Drew's 'Open Challenges' were a weekly highlight when he first moved over to SmackDown. Since then, the change of scenery has done nothing for him.

'Happy Talk' was so poor that fans started chanting "CM Punk! CM Punk! CM Punk!" to amuse themselves. This writer usually detests that, but he can't blame Chicago for getting restless. WWE may argue that Happy Corbin and Madcap's jokes are deliberately crap, but...do they need to waste so much TV time on them every Friday?

No. The answer is no.

Watching two men struggle to pull a sword from Adam Pearce's desk was "sports entertainment" at its worst. There was just no need for this to run for 10 minutes, and there's next-to-no appetite from fans to see McIntyre collide with Moss at Day 1 either.
