5 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Dec 17)

Downs...

3. Shayna Baszler = Collateral Damage

At this point, Shayna Baszler would've been better off staying on Raw.

That's an incredible thing to say considering she was feuding with toy dolls and teaming with Nia Jax on Mondays, but it's true. On SmackDown, Shayna is rapidly becoming a borderline jobber who only exists to play supporting cast for other rivalries. Oh, and she also lost to Naomi in around 30 seconds.

Would someone please explain why Baszler is Sonya Deville's bitch all of a sudden? WWE haven't bothered to flesh that part of the narrative out, and it doesn't look like they're going to. Worse, any hopes of a hot match opposite the recently-debuting Xia Li (who was almost totally ignored here) were dashed by the lame job to Naomi.

It's one step forwards and two steps back for this Deville vs. Naomi feud. WWE want to string things out until Day 1, which is fine - using Shayna as collateral though? Nah, that's not cool. She's ice cold right now, and this role is a complete waste of her talents.
