5 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Jan 12 - Results & Review)
2. That Heyman & Aldis Dynamic
Nick Aldis is more than holding his own on the mic opposite Paul Heyman, and that speaks volumes about how well he's fitting in as SmackDown GM. The way Aldis deftly put Roman Reigns in a six-man despite knowing the 'Chief' couldn't be bothered to show up for work was clever.
Then, Nick trumped Heyman and charges by using Roman's absence against them and putting the remaining Bloodline members in a potential handicap situation if they couldn't find a partner for Solo Sikoa and Jimmy Uso. This slyly told the tale that Reigns is letting down his troops by "starting things he can't finish".
Heyman's reactions to all of this were superb.
WWE should honestly think about talking Aldis into an active spot on the roster long term. He certainly needs to do more mic work like this with Heyman, and that might lead to an unlikely babyface berth vs. Roman down the line. Why not, eh?
