5 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Mar 3)

Ups...

Liv Morgan is jobber-to-the-stars fodder at the moment, which is a shame, but she couldn't exactly go over the Royal Rumble winner in a one-off match this week. Besides, Rhea Ripley is a giving-enough heel to make sure that Liv didn't leave without getting her licks in.

The result? A fun back-and-forth battle that was a noticeable step up from some of the other women's fare typically seen on SmackDown. Compare and contrast this with the other female bout on the show, for example. These women had gusto due to Rhea's star power, and they laced their match with plenty for both parties.

It was really rather good.

Dominik Mysterio being a trolling little pest around ringside also elevated things, and Liv knows how to play the spunky underdog babyface well. This was a showcase for Ripley, more than anything, but it was a well-deserved and entertaining one.
