5 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Oct 21)

Downs...

3. Could’ve Done Without The First Part

Liv Morgan Sonya Deville

Liv Morgan "going extreme" has become a weekly addition to SmackDown's booking. It'll likely lead to her linking up with Bray Wyatt long-term, which is certainly a spot that guarantees TV time, but what was up with the first part of her match vs. Sonya Deville here?

Both women kinda went through the motions.

Sonya locking on momentum-sapping rest holds didn't quite follow on from Liv's backstage attack and that table bump from last week. Indeed, WWE's agents could've got to the point (LIV IS EXTREME, Y'ALL!) a lot quicker than they did here. There was no need for eight minutes of standard exchanges.

In fairness, Morgan is very good at the sudden snap gimmick. She deserves some praise for that, but popping her in house show-esque one-on-ones beforehand must be questioned. Also, Deville should've been the aggressor from the off here.
