5 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Sept 8)

4. The Title Match People Want

Asuka IYO SKY

Asuka getting in IYO's face is promising for the champ, and a win over someone as respected as everyone's favourite mist-blowing veteran would be huge for SKY. Concerns persist that she'll be a placeholder champion, but this match in two weeks should be scorching.

It's something to look forward to.

Triple H should give Asuka vs. IYO the main event slot on SmackDown a fortnight from now. Approx 20 minutes of ring time would give their clash a pay-per-view feel, and fans would see the best of SKY. Admittedly, her title reign is gonna be limited promo-wise, so spotlighting her in-ring strengths is smart.

WWE could've held off on this until Fastlane next month, but IYO does need some banner wins to lift her title run up a bit. Beating Asuka will help with that, then SKY can move onto the next hurdle. Overall, SmackDown's face-to-face was very well handled.
