5 Ups & 4 Downs For AEW Collision (May 25 - Results & Review)

Fire from Willow, idiocy from Moxley, and a Double J main event as Double or Nothing looms large.

Another week, another AEW Collision in the books.

This time out, Collision was in the tough spot of taking place just one day before Double or Nothing. As is always the case with a show that takes place on the eve of a PPV, there's almost a sense of a holding pattern sitting over the episode. Nothing too major can take place once the PPV line-up is already set, and the various stories heading into that event may already start to feel well overdue a resolution.

Still, this week's Collision did have several plus points to it, even if some familiar issues did frustratingly rear their head once again. Much like is the norm for AEW, though, the in-ring element of the show was fairly solid throughout, and the episode did about as much as it could to hype Double or Nothing while not being able to have any particular stakes on the line. However, one of the more baffling moments here was a rare, rare case of Jon Moxley being made to look like a total buffoon. Regardless, Collision navigated the road to Double or Nothing in fairly decent fashion with a pretty solid but pretty unremarkable offering that did just about enough to get by.

As Elton John has long told us, Saturday night's alright for fighting...
