5 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Dark (Aug 11)

1. The Butcher and The Bade vs. SoCal Uncensored

Speaking of week-to-week improvements, The Butcher and The Blade faced SoCal Uncensored in Dark's main event, coming through with another strong showing against an established AEW tandem.

Last week it was Private Party, this week it was Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian. A traditionally-paced tag bout brought exchanges of holds and SCU working slick tandem moves on the heels. The Butcher broke this up by hossing his considerable bulk around the ring, looking far from the green slugger he was when he debuted as he neutralised Kazarian on the outside ahead of the finish, then dashed inside to crush Daniels before he and Blade hit the Full Death.

SCU's work is never sloppy. They've been doing this forever, their experience shows, and they're a great duo to use to put a team like The Butcher and The Blade over. That's two in a row for the metal daddies, by the way. Perhaps they'll be ranked this week.
