5 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Dark (Aug 11)

3. Rey Fenix vs. Lee Johnson

Rey Fenix
AEW

Though primarily known as a dazzlingly creative high-flying babyface, Rey Fenix is just as great when he turns into a nasty little sh*t between the ropes, as was the case in his squash of Lee Johnson.

Fenix was fantastic here. He was as aggressive and ruthless as his brother Pentagon throughout, laying into his opponent with chops, slaps, bites, and high-impact moves. This performance was as much about humiliating Johnson as it was getting the W and Fenix was a constant pest, continually offering fake apologies to referee Aubrey Edwards whenever he broke the roles before immediately breaking them again. Great stuff and a welcome change of pace.

A Muscle Buster ended Johnson's night and put another number in Fenix's win column. More of him being a total d*ck, please.
