5 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Dark (Feb 4)

2. Brandi's Therapy

Brandi Rhodes therapy
AEW

If you follow AEW or Brandi Rhodes on social media, you may have caught the recent vignettes in which the Chief Brand Officer is attending a therapy session. If not, AEW aired one on last night's Dark and... yeahhh, this wasn't good.

Brandi, in full Nightmare Collective garb, said that something still didn't feel right. She still needed help. Screenshots of Twitter criticism flashed on the screen as Rhodes stressed that it doesn't get to her, then there was talk of clenching fists, releasing tension, visualising hurt, all while the therapist morphed in and out of Nightmare-style attire, convincing Brandi that there's nothing wrong with her.

This all led to Rhodes walking out, leaving a little blue monkey (!) behind and while well-produced, this was exactly the kind of hokey nonsense we were told wouldn't feature on AEW programming. The Nightmare Collective evolving is good; they need to find more convincing ways to do it though.
