1. Sky Topples Guevara In Lacklustre Ladder Match

All spots, no substance.

That was the story of Scorpio Sky and Sammy Guevara's TNT Championship ladder match. A poor main event that saw both characters abandon any semblance of ring smarts in the name of elaborate stunts, it was, unfortunately, the kind of empty calories that mobilise that bot army that lives to see this promotion fail.

Countless moments saw Sky or Guevara spurn clear opportunities to reach up and grab the belt in the name of doing something that'd look good on a gif. Guevara was the chief offender here. If it happens once, you can attribute it to his character, saying that he isn't all that intelligent and would rather catch the eye than seal the deal. Go beyond that and the match barely resembles a competition.

Credit to the wrestlers for putting their bodies on the line here. Scorp deserves a special mention for getting over as a babyface in the closing stages, too, though the character dynamics caused issues early on as well. Ostensibly heel vs. heel, it sounded like Philadelphia had little interest in getting behind either of them.

Paige VanZant's interference drew a pop, at least. She and Sky vs. Guevara and Tay Conti is the ultimate destination. This shouldn't have required the needless hot-shotting of the TNT Championship, though. This year might only be four months old but it has already seen five individual reigns.
