5 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Rampage (Dec 16)

3. Mox Works Another Winner

Jon Moxley
AEW

Last week, Jon Moxley put his working boots on and produced one of the best matches Rampage has ever seen vs. Japanese marvel Konosuke Takeshita. Before that, at Full Gear, Mox did everything he could to elevate MJF as the new AEW World Champ. Before that, Jon had worthwhile showings vs. everyone from Penta and Hangman Page to Juice Robinson.

The man's on a bloody mission. Literally.

Sammy Guevara was a credible-enough opponent to make Friday's result slightly less of a formality. He met Mox halfway, and was right on point for every story beat the pair wanted to work. In fact, Sammy's Swanton dive through a table on the outside was one of the show's main highlights.

These dudes burned through a lot in this opener, but it was really well-worked overall. Although this guy could've done without the blood personally, some will like it and think that added more drama. Generally, the match was very, very good.
