5 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Rampage (Jan 5 - Results & Review)

Downs...

4. What Is This?

Harley Cameron Anna Jay Angelo Parker Jake Hager Matt Menard
AEW

This promo was a miss from minute one.

Firstly, Anna Jay hyped everyone up for her Rampage match vs. Hikaru Shida by...saying she feels "stagnant" at the start of 2024. Yep, that'll put some butts in seats! Seriously though, that was an odd choice of wording and totally butted heads with what Renee Paquette was trying to put across as interviewer.

Then, Harley Cameron ran in on the ex-JAS crew's time to whisper something in Angelo Parker's ear. She'd clearly been sent by Saraya to get Parker in hot water with his would-be girlfriend Ruby Soho, but the story isn't all that interesting to begin with. Shoving Harley in as a troublemaker for the sake of it won't change things.

Sure, you could argue that AEW is giving these folks something to do, but that "something to do" still needs to be interesting. Cameron being a flirt with Angelo to break off his flirting with Ruby just isn't very compelling. Sorry, but it isn't.
