5 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Rampage (Jan 5 - Results & Review)

Ups...

5. A Squash, But One That Worked!

Stokely Hathaway Kris Statlander

You might be shocked that this got an 'Up'.

Squashes tend to hit the 'Downs' section more often than not in these write-ups, but there was something strangely charming about interactions between Stokely Hathaway, Kris Statlander and Willow Nightingale. The way Stokely is almost courting Kris as more than just a manager interested in a new client is fun.

Meanwhile, Statlander is having none of it and Willow is almost bummed out that Hathaway isn't showing her the same affection. This might well be a diversionary tactic to take fans off the scent of an unlikely Willow heel turn; remember, she was (slightly) affected by Julia Hart's witchy ways just like Skye Blue.

Rampage doesn't normally need squash matches like this one, but there was enough story to keep things going throughout the segment. Stokely is onto something with his almost-hapless attempts to secure a new meal ticket, so this is one story to keep an eye on as the weeks progress.
