5 Ups & 4 Downs From Last Night's Impact Wrestling (Jun 14)
2. Wrong Challenger
Despite Rosemary staking her claim as the next challenger to Taya Valkyrie's Knockouts Championship, it appears that the next person to face the champ will actually be Su Yung, as was revealed on Scarlett Bordeaux's talk show.
This just doesn't seem like a logical step for Taya's reign right now. Su is still involved in Rosemary's life judging by what's been happening, so she doesn't really have time to be pursuing the championship right now. Plus this will be a heel vs. heel match. While face vs. face matches are common enough, it's rare to see two heels going at it unless it's a multi-man contest.
Taya's reign likely won't be ending here, so Su won't be anything except for another challenger in her reign, and even though the match will undoubtedly be good, it's not what should've happened. It simply doesn't seem like something that you would do - be chained up for a few weeks and dragged around, only to then be set free and chase the championship.
In saying that, this is coming from a company that killed a wrestler off because they signed with All Elite Wrestling. So, anything can happen in the Impact Zone.
