5 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE Hall Of Fame 2025 (Results & Review)

3. A Heartwarming Opening

Lex Luger hall of fame
WWE

WWE picked a good pairing to open the ceremony (no, not Michael Cole and Pat McAfee) by having Diamond Dallas Page induct Lex Luger.

Page, who probably deserves a second HOF ring for the people whose lives he’s improved or saved, gave a great accounting of Lex’s career and an unvarnished view of the downturn his life took after wrestling ended.

After being confined to a wheelchair for years, Luger began working with DDP, gaining the ability to rise from his chair Friday night, walk a few steps to the podium and stand for his remarks. Lex also was pretty plainspoken about how he thought he’d never have anything to do with wrestling after his troubles, how turning to faith helped save him, and how fans at a Walmart opened his eyes to being a wrestling fan himself.

Luger’s tale was a nice, positive opening to the event and provided some good vibes out of the gate.
