2. Babyfaces Unite!

When you have established a heel stable to run roughshod over a wrestling promotion, the real fun comes from seeing how the babyfaces come together to oppose the group. The best stories often involve reluctant heroes who normally wouldn’t interact joining forces, creating a tenuous alliance to bring down the villains.

Seth Rollins’ unnamed stable is that force on Raw at the moment, and they have targeted Jey Uso and his World Heavyweight Championship. They also have identified Sami Zayn as a threat to their standing on the red brand. And the betrayal by Paul Heyman makes CM Punk a natural enemy.

However, seeing all three faces come together has been a nice, organic experience thus far. They’re clearly brought together by Rollins’ clan, standing unified because it’s the right thing to do, and it’s the only way for any of them to triumph.

Zayn and Uso saved Punk in the opening segment, and that fracas gave way to a tag match for Saturday Night’s Main Event between Rollins and Bron Breakker versus Zayn and Punk.

Backstage, Sami and Punk discussed the situation, with Punk noting that he has “a hard time trusting anyone right now.” The two worked through the conversation to arrive at the conclusion that they needed to cooperate to stop Rollins or neither of them would accomplish any of their individual goals. Later, both men rushed to Jey’s side after Bron had laid him out.

That’s how babyfaces should join forces – not in some instantaneous, smooth, artificial manner, but in a more realistic, uneven way.
