Ups…

5. Vikings No More

Erik and Ivar returned to action on Monday night in an absolutely dominant squash of Alpha Academy, but it’s what they didn’t bring with them that really stood out.

The duo returned under their NXT War Raiders moniker, ditching the Viking theme that had come to define them during their main roster run. While the team made the most of the Norse trappings that accompanied the name, it also came to define them more than the in-ring action that brought them to the dance.

Their squash of Otis and Akira Tozawa was absolute, as they broke out several of their signature spots while unveiling a new finisher, the Fallout, which could best be described as a release backdrop suplex (Erik) into a diving splash (Ivar). Splat.

The only real potential negative here would be if fans never get another Viking Rules match. Surely, the War Raiders can bring that back occasionally to vanquish opponents.

He fortunately became a fan in time for WrestleMania III and came back as a fan after a long high school hiatus before WM XIV. Monday nights in the Carlson household are reserved for viewing Raw -- for better or worse.
