5 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE Raw (18 Mar - Results & Review)

3. Stumbling A**-Backwards Into A Win

Nothing says “sentimental fan favorites” like a tag team that earns a WrestleMania title match because one wrestler fell onto another for the pin.

That’s what happened Monday night when Awesome Truth defeated the monstrous (but seldom-used) Indus Sher. The heels dominated much of the subpar match until Miz and R-Truth managed to put Veer down with a Skull-Crushing Finale. During a fracas seconds later, Sanga elbowed Truth, who fell backward on top of Veer for the win.

All signs seem to point to WWE rewarding Truth with a WrestleMania Moment of winning the Undisputed WWE Tag Titles in the six-team ladder match next month, which is probably the only way for them to credibly win, as they can’t just fall backward into a title win, so climbing a ladder when everyone else is knocked out is probably the best route for them.

If you love Truth and his antics, this was probably cinema for you. But unfortunately for others, Truth’s routine has been stale more often than not for some time now, making this a “grin and bear it” effort.

He fortunately became a fan in time for WrestleMania III and came back as a fan after a long high school hiatus before WM XIV. Monday nights in the Carlson household are reserved for viewing Raw -- for better or worse.
