3. Women’s Tag Flows Well
Hot take: the nontitle women’s tag match pitting Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez against Bianca Belair and Naomi was a surprisingly good little match.
Michael Cole made a good point noting that Liv and Raquel have been tag champs in the past, so they aren’t some slapdash duo trying to hang with the current champions. Still, Belair and Naomi controlled a good portion of the match, with Bianca running wild on Morgan at one point with a suplex, spinebuster, and handspring moonsault for a close two-count. Raquel used her power a few times to turn the tide, but the villains needed a bit more help to overcome the champs.
Cue Dominik Mysterio, who distracted the referee after Belair put Liv down with a KOD. This also allowed Raquel to spike Naomi with a Tejana Bomb on the apron, which gave Morgan the pin.
This will likely set up a tag title match between the two teams, which is one of the worst ways to designate a challenger. However, this is the first tag match the duo have lost since winning the titles, so it’s forgivable in this instance.
