5 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE Raw (27 Jan - Results & Review)

4. Brief And To The Point

Contrasting the show-opening promo train, Jey Uso delivered a much more concise promo on Monday night from atop the commentary desk.

Jey’s lengthy entrance from the crowd still took up less airtime than the opening segment, but when he grabbed the mic, Uso was efficient with his words. He thanked the fans for the support and love, especially after Saturday Night’s Main Event. Like a good babyface, he acknowledged that Gunther was just better than him on the night.

Also like a good babyface, Jey still believed that he could beat the Ring General. He heard other wrestlers putting his name in their mouths, so he knew he needed to buckle down, win the Rumble, and get another World Heavyweight Championship chance at WrestleMania.

Not much was said here, and it was even less newsworthy than the opening segment, but the energy level was high, the promo was brief, and it further plugged the Rumble, so that’s a win all the way around.
