5. Goofy Goodness
Braun Strowman’s ongoing feud with the Judgment Day has been a hit-or-miss affair, with his comical interactions with JD McDonagh being a clear high point.
The Monster of All Monsters sided with Awesome Truth to take on the villainous stable Monday night, only to get outsmarted when McDonagh avoided the Strowman (and R-Truth) Express and fled, with Braun giving chase. This left Truth alone (Miz had been in peril for much of the match), and he quickly fell to Finn Balor.
Judgment Day’s B-Team bouncing off Strowman and flailing about as they’re unable to solve the Braun problem is somewhat humorous, with JD being a great antagonist and foil for the big man. Some weeks, the dynamic works. Other times, it feels strained watching a stable boasting the world and tag champs unable to stop one wrestler – even if it’s Braun.
But Finn, JD, and Carlito are comical enough to make it work most weeks, and Strowman plays his part well, so it gets passing marks this week.
