4. Johnny Wrestling Forgets His Name

Just in case you thought everyone who was an NXT darling in the Triple H era was going to shine as brightly as they did then now, we bring you Exhibit A, Johnny Gargano.

We’ll have more to say about Gargano in a bit, but let’s focus on one specific issue from Monday. A guy who goes by the moniker Johnny Wrestling decided mid-match to stop, climb on top of the announce desk, put on JBL’s Stetson and do a mocking dance like a cowboy. Worse, when it worked out ok for him, he elected to keep it on and try to hit another move on Baron Corbin, when Bradshaw interfered and tripped him up, directly leading to a loss.

Gargano went completely out of character to goof around with JBL and looked like a geek. It didn’t help that the outcome seemed obvious with a newly recast Corbin in the beginning of another renewed push, so it wasn’t like you thought it was going to work out well for Johnny.

That was a true groan-inducing moment if there ever was one.
