5 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE SmackDown (14 Feb)

2. The Miz & John Morrison Lose Out

Well, what the flying Miz & Mrs was this?

The Miz and John Morrison are the number one contenders for New Day's SmackDown Tag-Team Titles, and they're slated to face Kofi Kingston and Big E at Super ShowDown for those belts. Why then did WWE's writers see fit to have the guys they want fans to take seriously as a title threat lose to some makeshift duo?

This was unacceptably naff booking, and it took one almighty whizz all over SmackDown's tag ranks for no reason whatsoever. If anything, Daniel Bryan could've taken a fall here and then continued his bad-tempered ways by kicking the living crap out of Roman Reigns afterwards like he did to Heath Slater last week.

WWE chose the wrong outcome for the sake of some forced house show-style happy ending. This main event was neither built strongly enough nor important enough for Miz and Morrison to take a loss. Remember this when Michael Cole is putting over the team as dangerous in Saudi Arabia.
