5 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE SmackDown (April 16)
4. That’s Why They’re The Dirty Dawgs
There was a slight worry that WWE would book a title change here for the sake of it. The Street Profits had been celebrating Bianca Belair's WrestleMania success, after all, and typical babyface booking would've resulted in a follow-up title win after Bianca said Montez Ford needed gold.
Thank God they didn't do that.
Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode are one of the finest tags in pro wrestling right now. They've got swagger, they've got that 1980s vibe, and they're workhorses inside the ring. The fact they were written to use The Profits' own quick tag tactic against them is great - 'dem Dawgs looked strong here.
OK sure, The Profits hardly deserved a title match after losing in that four-way on "WrestleMania SmackDown" last week, but a solid match is still a solid match. This, for what it was, worked. The finish made Dolph look like a genius too.
