Roman Reigns' dominating run as the best character in WWE is under serious threat.

In truth, it has been for weeks now. Both Edge and Daniel Bryan are keeping pace with the 'Tribal Chief', and they've been doing that by delivering some weighty promos that brilliantly illustrate their burning desires to become the next Universal Champion. It's top stuff, and it bodes well for the Triple Threat to come at WrestleMania 37.

This week's SmackDown, whilst definitely still fun, was a bit of a placeholder. WWE are much more interested in next week's 'Mania special (and then, of course, the pay-per-view itself), but some of their storytelling feels a bit wonky heading into the biggest show(s) of the year.

More than one feud is still unconvincing, for example, and some wrestler weaknesses are being exposed when their strengths need to be caressed by creative. This was not a banner week for Cesaro, put it that way - the same could be said for Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks...again.

Here are all the 'Ups' and 'Downs' from the penultimate blue brand stop pre-Tampa...
