A lot of folks are going to moan about this particular name change, but it's not as egregious as some over the years. Pearlers like Michael McGillicutty and Shorty G come to mind there. Besides, Raquel Rodriguez isn't too far removed from Raquel Gonzalez.

The NXT star had done everything there was to do on the third brand anyway, so it was time for her to move on to bigger things. She needed this change of scenery, and she'll be a good addition to the women's scene on SmackDown.

It's also promising that Raquel spurned advances from Los Lotharios.

WWE would've come in for some heavy flak had Rodriguez batted her eyelids at Angel and Humberto. She's always been a powerful sort on NXT, and it'd be awful if she suddenly started acting like a shy little flower around the handsome tag-team for no reason.
