5 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Feb 2 - Results & Review)

1. The Bad Side

The Rock Cody Rhodes

Here goes nothing.

Cody Rhodes willingly stepping aside for The Rock makes no sense. Why would he gift wrap an opportunity for some part-timer (even Dwayne Johnson) to win the belt he covets? Cody won the Royal Rumble for the second year running, and should be going after Roman Reigns on the grandest stage. It's really as simple as that.

There is a positive side to all of this that'll be explored in the 'Ups', but yes...it's easy to see why people are frustrated by this decision. It reeks of a panic move, and it's hardly like WWE needs Rocky to help sell 'Mania to the paying public. This 'Head Of The Table' vs. 'Real Head Of The Table' scenario doesn't even need belts on the line to make it worthwhile.

Maybe things will all work out for the best in the end. Again, there's a good side to the argument, and it is possible to be both steaming mad that Cody is seemingly missing out whilst acknowledging that Triple H has to work around Rock's schedule.

Stay tuned for the silver lining.
