Imagine Macauley Culkin had grown up supping protein shakes instead of milkshakes and picture The Miz and John Morrison as WWE's version of 'The Wet Bandits'. That's pretty much what the company presented on the latest episode of SmackDown, only the roles were in reverse.

Braun Strowman was the one getting pranks played on him, and Miz and Morrison ("Hey Hey, Ho Ho") were akin to Harry and Marv with muscles. Yes, the whole thing was every bit as weird as that description reads, and no, it doesn't exactly smack of creative genius that this is the latest Universal Title feud.

It is what it is - comedy hijinks are the new norm, even in the top line scene.

SmackDown also had some proper pro wrestling to sink one's teeth into, and it dazzled on both sides of the gender divide. Two dudes, probably with attitudes, had a hard-hitting technical winner and two women held up that division's side of the bargain by bashing together another strong effort.

Here's all the good and bad from SmackDown's penultimate episode before Backlash next Sunday...
