5 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE SmackDown (June 5)

1. Comedy In The World Title Scene

Sorry, but an over-reliance on comedy in the main event scene is an automatic down.

As good as The Miz and John Morrison are at playing class clowns, they shouldn't be in the Universal Title mix, and their sophomoric humour won't validate Braun Strowman's championship reign either. Here's a guy who rolled over Bill f'n Goldberg at WrestleMania 36, and now he's starring in some Swerved reruns.

Braun came across as a total child by blowing up at some of the tag-team's tame pranks too. Then, they smashed up his car, and that caused Strowman to channel his 2017 self by tipping over their surveillance van. WWE didn't attempt to explain where Miz and Morrison procured said van - nobody should be surprised by that though.

This is just not good at all. If this was a placeholder feud for a beltless Braun, then fair enough, but he's SmackDown's World Champion. He honestly shouldn't be running around getting involved in goofy scenarios against the least threatening Universal belt challengers this side of Baron Corbin.
