5 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Oct 7)

2. Zelina Vega = Leader

Yes, yes, yes.

The whole 'Queen' Zelina thing should've been a springboard to bigger things for Vega, but WWE gave up on it just a few weeks in and decided that she'd be better off teaming up with Carmella (thrown-together female tags are law, don't you know?). That was a treading water spot for the faux-royal.

On Friday, Zelina burst back onto the scene as the mouthpiece for Legado del Fantasma's SmackDown debut. The former NXT faction attacked Hit Row, then smiled as Vega introduced them to the world as her new associates. This means she can revert back to a similar starring role to the one she had as Andrade's manager years ago.

That really suited Vega, because she's strong on the mic. Seeing WWE put some shine on an NXT stable is nice too; score one for developmental > main roster promotions, and score another for non-title tag-team feuds.
