4. Why Even Bother...

AEW Collision will usually feature just one sole women's match, which tends to run for eight minutes or so, three of which are spent in a picture-in-picture commercial break. In Collision's lifespan, the show has never featured more than one bout for the company's talented ladies, and only once - Kris Statlander vs. Britt Baker - has this Saturday offering been headlined by the AEW women.

The good news this week? That's that Abadon vs. Kiera Hogan thankfully didn't get a picture-in-picture break sandwiched in the middle of it. The bad news? Why, that's that this match got less than four minutes.

A four-minute match is fine if there was another women's match or two spread out across Collision. Unfortunately, this was it as far as the in-ring time for the AEW ladies this week. Yep, not even four minutes of ring time for the women's roster.

Having to write about the same issues each and every week for AEW Collision Ups & Downs is incredibly frustrating, but it's something that has to be called out. This problem isn't specifically a Collision one, of course, as the promotion's ladies receive the same treatment across all AEW programming; to the point, you have to ask yourself why Tony Khan even bothers with a women's division when he blatantly sees such little value in one.

As for Abadon vs. Hogan, it was about as good as you could hope for from a match that was only afforded three minutes and 41 seconds of TV time. Both ladies have plenty of upside, and this time out it was Abadon sealing the 1-2-3 after hitting the Black Dahlia, with post-match shenanigans lining Abadon up to face AEW TBS Champion Julia Hart.
