5 Ups & 5 Downs For WWE Raw (4 Aug - Results & Review)

4. Boring Match With A Purpose

WWE Raw Grayson Waller Penta

Grayson Waller versus Penta existed for one important reason (which will receive mild praise later): to kick off a rivalry between Penta and the New Day.

But just because the match served a purpose after the bell rang doesn’t absolve them for having a dull, “moves happening in front of you” vibe. The match was a series of back-and-forth exchanges that happened in the right order and were decently executed, but there was no drama, excitement, or “soul” to the match, until Penta countered an Alabama Slam attempt into a Mexican Destroyer for the pin.

That about sums up the entire match: a series of moves that just happened with a dull hum of the crowd until the big pop finish. Thrilling stuff.
