Roxanne Perez Lyra Valkyria
WWE

Put Lyra Valkyria and Roxanne Perez in the ring. Ring the bell. Lather, rinse and repeat.

Even when they aren’t churning out their best work, the two wrestlers are skilled enough to make things work and put together an entertaining little match, which is what we got from them Monday night.

Perez targeted Valkyria’s arm throughout the match, inhibiting Lyra’s ability to lock in some moves. Just when it appeared that Lyra still would fall short due to outside interference, Bayley attempted to even the odds by interjecting into the match herself, grabbing Valkyria to prevent her from being launched off the top rope.

However, things escalated on the outside, and both Roxanne and Lyra abandoned the match to attack on the floor, giving Perez the opportunity to hit Pop Rox for the win.

Instead of getting screamed at by a mentally disturbed Bayley, the Role Model yelled for the two of them to exact revenge on the Judgment Day women – which they did backstage later. By minimizing the B-movie-level acting from Bayley and Lyra, it instantly elevated everything, even if the match wasn’t both women’s best.

Bayley still had an “episode” during the match and went from happy-go-lucky cheerleader to vengeful second boisterously demanding an attack. And doing this won’t make the overall angle better. But for one week at least, things were relatively tolerable.
