The promised face-to-face between Jerry Lynn and Jack Perry was a pointless bait-and-switch all told. The two delivered upon the promotion to the letter, but Lynn had implied violence last week and that never came. Not from him, anyway, and that's when all of this got good.
Rob Van Dam was announced as an ECW legend that can still go, and the jury will be out on that for the next seven days, but him entering to Pantera's "Walk" on a mainstream show in 22 years was an exhilarating experience for fans of a certain vintage - Tony Khan included.
The announcement of an actual FTW Title match between the two next week was the promise of some uppance that won't come for Perry, but will at least invite Van Dam to show exactly what he's got left as part of this oddly compelling ECW revival bit.
