5 Ups & 5 Downs From AEW Dynamite (3 Nov)

Downs...

5. A Most Formulaic Evening

Thunder Rosa
AEW

It's not often we're able to say this, but last night's Dynamite was as formulaic as a middling episode of Raw and SmackDown.

Four of the night's matches were followed by near-identical post-bout angles. The heels would continue their beatdowns after the bell, attempting to draw sympathy for the babyfaces, before a hero dashed out from the back and made the save.

- Kenny Omega vs. Alan Angels

- FTR vs. Samuray Del Sol and Aero Star

- Jamie Hayter vs. Anna Jay

- Cody Rhodes vs. Andrade El Idolo

They all, effectively, did the same thing. It was overkill. Repeat the same format in 80% of your matches and diminishing returns are inevitable. This was absolutely the case here, with none of the angles resonating as a result.
