5 Ups & 5 Downs From AEW Dynamite: Homecoming (4 Aug)

4. Continually Underwhelming

Lucha Brothers

This Andrade El Idolo/Death Triangle storyline? It's not working.

Chavo Guerrero is yet to find his voice as Andrade's executive consultant. He isn't coming off as particularly slimy or conniving in this role, which is a problem when he and his charge are trying to manipulate the Lucha Brothers into ditching PAC. Andrade, meanwhile, nullifies Chavo's use by speaking as much as his manager does.

That Chavo and Andrade have the power to cancel all of PAC's travel arrangements is weird, but it has happened on two consecutive shows. So AEW might as well fast-forward to the matches now.

Cult favourite Fuego Del Sol made an appearance later on, getting himself beaten up by Andrade after refusing to shine the newcomer's shoes. This should set up a fun Dynamite match between and Andrade and Fuego, but if designed to send a message to Death Triangle, it didn't work. Why would Fenix and Penta want to "work" for a guy like that, without his own upward trajectory?
