5 Ups & 5 Downs From AEW Dynamite (May 12)

4. Dressing Room Destruction

The biggest issue with the Super Elite locker-room shenanigans was the harsh cut-away from SoCal Uncensored's loss.

That moment's enormity was disappointingly undersold as Dynamite hurried to Eddie Kingston and Jon Moxley, who trashed the spot for the invisible cameras. An odd choice. Frankie Kazarian and Christopher Daniels had been teaming together for nine years prior to last night's cruel loss. Their sad, bloody embrace should have been lingered on rather than shorted.

The basis of these segments was very Sports Entertainment too - and not good Sports Entertainment. Kingston and Moxley trashed the locker-room. The Good Brothers and Young Bucks got upset about it, so Matt ranted about it, then challenged Mox and Kingston to a Double Or Nothing match.

Unnecessary destruction of property that added no new heat to a feud that was already bubbling? That's a Down. Overthinking and adding extra gimmicks to simple, straightforward situations was a problem throughout the show.
