5 Ups & 5 Downs From AEW Dynamite (May 12)

Ups...

5. Condescending Christian Cage

Christian Cage
AEW

The Captain is finding his Charisma again.

Flashes old the old, sharp-tongued Christian Cage came out in his backstage segment with Dasha Gonzalez, which opened on him challenging any member of Team Taz to a match, encompassed the Casino Battle Royale announcement, and ended on Christian getting into it with Matt Sydal.

Cage was kind of a d*ckhead here. He said Taz criticising his technique was like him critiquing the ECW legend's ability at the buffet table. When Sydal showed up, he ripped him for slipping off the top rope at Double Or Nothing 2020. In the end, he was outsmarted by Sydal, who revealed that he, not a Team Taz member, had signed Cage's open match contract.

Insulting Christian is a more interesting proposition than Earnest Hard-Working Christian, so this was a welcome segment. He and Sydal should have a slick match next week.
