5 Ups & 5 Downs From AEW Dynamite (November 22 - Results & Review)

3. Ruby Soho Vs Anna Jay Vs Skye Blue

Ruby Soho Cool Hand Ang
AEW

A noble failure this, not least because the booking of Skye Blue picking up the victory feels like an attempt to move her away from the corruption-verse and find somewhere else to make good on her obvious and clear progression this year. Unfortunately there was more here to dislike than enjoy.

Heatless but not the most heatless of the night despite the doomed spot, where the match really fell away wasn't due to what took place bell-to-bell but the romance angle attached to it between Ruby Soho and Cool Hand Ang.

Auto-pilot booking rather than stopping to ask why results in outcomes and characters less over than they should be. Blue got the win, but it was opportunistic and all the focus was on heels bollocking one another after the fact.

The story isn't a bad one! But why exactly are the lovers so star-crossed? Anna Jay wanted Ang's focus to be on her, but what exactly do Daddy Magic and Saraya have against their friends coming together? The detail wasn't explored, but the fake-feeling splitting up of the pair mirrored Matt Menard's inexplicable hatred of Daniel Garcia's dancing. These are people performing enforced actions like wrestling robots, not doing what their characters might actually do.
