5 Ups & 5 Downs From AEW Rampage (Nov 18)

Downs...

5. An Uninteresting Story Continues

Rush Jose The Assistant John Silver 10 Dark Order
AEW

What is with these humdrum stories?!

10 having problems with John Silver talking for him and accepting challenges is a bit random considering...that's what Silver does, and the whole Dark Order vs. Rush thing = uninteresting as f*ck. Rampage's backstage promo involving all three and Jose The Assistant didn't change that.

AEW could use some guidance for these promos, being honest. They're regularly rotten - the dialogue is weak, the conversation fake-sounding ('here are my scripted lines') and the payoff is typically unsatisfying as all hell. What exactly was this supposed to get fans pumped for?

Silver vs. Rush is a match with next-to-no stakes. If John wins, he'll just plod on as the default leader of The Order. If Rush wins, then what? Sometimes, mysteries and questions are good. This isn't an example of that at all, because neither outcome sounds attractive.
