5 Ups & 5 Downs From Impact Wrestling (26 Jan)

Downs...

5. A Step In The Wrong Direction

Tony Khan and Tony Schiavone's paid advertisements returned to their old form this week, as the duo berated Impact Wrestling, and ran down the packed card for tonight's edition of AEW Dynamite. Considering the excitement of last week's paid ad, where Khan was revealed to actually be in the Impact Zone alongside Jerry Lynn, this was a serious step back.

Now obviously, the AEW head honcho can't physically be in Impact Wrestling's venues each and every week. Not only does it interfere with the testing and social distancing regulations between the two promotions, but it wouldn't feel as special if Khan cropped up in some capacity on every show. These skits with him and Schiavone are fine when they're done to a decent standard. We've seen this exact thing before, sadly.

As time has proven, the ads vary in entertainment between weeks. Next week's could be the best one we've ever seen, or it could be a flop. Until they change the format of them, though, expect to see them on this side of the Ups and Downs ratio.
