5 Ups & 5 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (Oct 2)

2. That Night In Milwaukee

Well, they actually did it: WWE kickstarted an adultery storyline with the "Milwaukee" angle, and last night did nothing to dispel our early pessimism.

Though well-performed by all involved, the Rusev/Aiden English/Lana segment was exactly what cynics thought it would be. The couple hit the ring to demand answers from their former ally. Out came 'The Shakespeare Of Song,' spouting a few words on the city of Milwaukee, before rolling the supposedly damning evidence. The footage had him in a hotel room. He was warming up his vocal chords when in walked Lana, telling Aiden "I want you," before the video cut off, leaving us on a cliffhanger.

With English claiming he was entertaining an offer from TMZ for the rest of the tape, the expected affair is the obvious claim here. What's most remarkable is that anyone in WWE creative would consider this a good idea, particularly as it involves Lana, whose previous infidelity angles bombed. Here we go again, though, sailing down a river of sh*t, with a big, twist ending the only hope of salvation...
