5 Ups & 5 Downs From NXT Vengeance Day 2024

2. Femi Is Inevitable

The success of Sunday’s North American Championship match obvious can be placed mainly at the feet of Dragon Lee, an experienced and electric veteran who makes magic between the ropes on a regular basis.

But holy hell, you have to take your cap off for Oba Femi, whose presence, power and raw talent were on full display at Vengeance Day. Femi tossed Lee around, swatted him off the apron, caught him and carried him like a child with ease, and looked intimidating doing all of it. The guy just has that unteachable characteristic that makes you take notice of him right away.

Dragon was fantastic in this match, playing the undersized challenger perfectly, though his speed, experience and skill evened the playing field – for a bit. He strung together a series of kicks, a tornado DDT and even a running Liger Bomb to put Femi on the ropes, but he was just too much to overcome.

Wade Barrett said it best during the match, noting that we had barely scratched the surface of what Oba Femi can do, and that we have no idea how good he could be.
