5 Ups & 5 Downs From NXT Vengeance Day 2024

2. Just Another Plunder Brawl

Apologies to Dijak and Joe Gacy, but a couple fun spots does not make up for a goofy and mostly dull plunder brawl.

Their no-DQ match involved trash cans, duct tape, chairs, kendo sticks and a nightstick, and if you think you can predict several of the moves, there’s a good chance you’ll get a few right. There were a couple fun moments: Gacy shoving Dijak off the ropes through a table covered in plastic army men was a cute spot, as was Joe duct-taping Dijak’s eyes, which prevented him from covering after hitting Feast Your Eyes.

But overall, this match was 80s movie villain Dijak trying to punish Gacy, who had his usual psychotic grin plastered on his face the entire time. Fans popped for the plunder, and that was about all there was to this.

This was the definition of a skippable bathroom break match. Inoffensive, but not memorable or impactful either.
