5 Ups & 5 Downs From This Week's Impact Wrestling (Apr 5)

1. 50/50 Booking

In the evening’s main event, the oddball pairing of Eli Drake and Eddie Edwards scored their biggest victory to date as they defeated the longest-reigning World Tag Team Champions in the form of The LAX. The victory did however only come after Drake hit Ortiz with Kenny the kendo stick following a distraction from The Lucha Bros.

Pentagon Jr. and Fenix then put Santana through a table after the match, sending a message to their opponents for Rebellion. It’s a bit of 50/50 booking in a way, seeing as The LAX put The Lucha Bros through tables last week at Against All Odds. This is without a doubt one of the best booked storylines going in Impact right now – excellent matches every time they face off and genuine reasons for them being angry at each other. Lovely stuff all around.

Not only did this all build towards that match but it also got Drake and Edwards quite a big victory, something that could do them wonders down the line in the sense of them receiving a World Tag Team Championships opportunity. Setting up the next championship by the looks of it.
